DR ANGELA MOONEY IS A CHARTERED PSYCHOLOGIST USING CBT, PSYCHODYNAMIC AND INTEGRATIVE THERAPY
“The test of good therapy is to continue feeling better, long after therapy has finished”
Welcome to my website.
I am a Chartered Psychologist with a private practice in Chelsea, West London.
I am an experienced clinician with a number of years of experience in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues and addiction.
I developed a ground breaking treatment program within the NHS, targeted at people who suffered with trauma, difficult- to- treat depression, anxiety, early childhood difficulties and addictive behaviours.
The research, which was conducted over 7 years on the treatment model, showed that over 90% of people who were treated reported reduced anxiety and depression, and a better understanding of the triggers to their problems.
The feedback also highlighted that people want more than just psychological skills from therapy; they also want to have a deep enough understanding of themselves to enable continual change in the future.
I specialise in a blending different types of therapy to help with a number of difficulties simultaneously.
I work with individuals and couples. I trained at the Tavistock Clinic in London in working psychodynamically with couples.
Entering into therapy can be daunting, especially if you struggle to reach out to others for help. I will always speak to you over the phone first, where you can ask as many questions as you need prior to starting.

I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY TREATED MANY PEOPLE WITH COMPLEX EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DIFFICULTIES. SOME OF THESE INCLUDE:
Depression
Anxiety
Relationship Problems
Addictive and Compulsive Behaviours
Long Term Grief
Eating Disorders
Sexual and Psychological Abuse
Health Issues
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Sexual Difficulties
Identity and Sexuality
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
It may be that brief therapy with a solution focused approach may be suitable for you, if you have a specific short term issue.
This is usually around 15 sessions.
However, it could be that you need a longer term therapy, as your difficulties are more complex and you require time to reflect on how they influence your thinking and behaviours in a number of areas.
This can be discussed in your first session.
